Rock Out with Rock Band at Reading Twestival

Posted on: 25 March 2010 at 09:00 - Comment

We wanted Reading Twestival to really ROCK – and what better way to do that than let you all rock out with Rock Band?

Whether you’re an avid musician, a karaoke fan, or just someone who likes to get up and look silly, we’ll be running Rock Band at various points throughout the evening.

If you’ve never heard of Rock Band, then the principal is simple – take a guitar, bass, drum kit and microphone. Turn them into Xbox controllers. Add some funky graphics and great tunes – and you’ve got a game that keeps us here at Reading Twestival HQ amused for hours.

We love rocking out, and hope you do too – all included in the price of your Twestival ticket!

A bit of History…

The first Twestival held in Reading was in February 2009. Around 60 people gathered in La Tasca in the town centre to raise money for Charity Water.

Reading Twestival Local in September 2009 saw around 80 people gather at Mix Bar on the Riverside to raise money for local charity Daisy’s Dream.

What can you expect in March 2010?

Another chance to meet those you follow on Twitter in real life! Another exciting venue, more great raffle prizes, gimics, fun, lots of prizes and freebies! Added to that, it’s all for the benefit of a great cause :D

Tell me more…

Reading Twestival is a charity fundraising event in support of global charity Concern.

It takes place on the evening of Thursday 25th March in Reading town centre. Organised through twitter, and supported by the international “Twestival” organisation, the event will see some 100+ people gather to raise funds to help Concern with with their invaluable work helping provide education to the world’s poorest communities, including Haiti, where the organisation has been active for many years.

Twestival is unique in that 100% of ticket sale money goes directly to the charity. Even booking and transaction fees have been waived. The cost of putting on event itself is funded entirely through sponsorship.

Watch this space for all the news as it’s announced!
